Embroidery Guide

Embroidery creates your logo, name or design by stitching it directly into the fabric of the garment.

It gives a professional, textured and long-lasting finish and is particularly well suited to uniforms, workwear, polos, jackets, caps and other garments where a premium appearance is desired.

Why Choose Embroidery?

Professional Appearance

  • Creates a clean and professional look.
  • Particularly suitable for:
    • Business uniforms
    • Corporate clothing
    • Staff uniforms
    • Workwear
    • Hospitality clothing
    • Sports and team clothing
  • The raised, stitched finish gives the design a more premium appearance.

Durable Finish

  • The design is stitched into the fabric rather than simply applied to the surface.
  • Well suited to garments that are worn and washed regularly.
  • A good option for uniforms and workwear that need to maintain a professional appearance over time.

Premium Look and Feel

  • Embroidery has a distinctive raised and textured finish.
  • It can make a relatively simple logo look more substantial and premium.
  • Particularly effective for simple business logos and text.

Suitable for Names

  • Embroidery works particularly well for:
    • Staff names
    • First names
    • Job titles
    • Business names
    • Simple text
  • Names can be added alongside a business logo.

Works Well on Smaller Branding Areas

  • Embroidery is particularly effective for compact logo positions such as:
    • Left chest
    • Right chest
    • Sleeves
    • Caps
  • These are common areas where a professional but relatively discreet logo is desired

When Embroidery May Not Be Recommended

Embroidery is best suited to designs and garment locations that fall within the recommended embroidery specifications.

Embroidery may not be suitable, or may require further assessment, in the following situations:

Design Exceeds the Recommended Size

  • The recommended maximum embroidery area for standard clothing is 270 mm × 270 mm.

More Than 6 Colours

  • Standard embroidery supports up to 6 colours per logo.
  • Designs containing more than 6 colours may not be suitable under the standard embroidery specifications.

Non-Recommended Locations

  • Embroidery is designed for specific garment locations where there is suitable space and construction.
  • Locations outside the recommended embroidery positions may not be suitable.
  • Examples of recommended positions include:
    • Left chest
    • Right chest
    • Centre chest
    • Sleeve
    • Upper back
    • Centre back
    • Lower back
    • Selected positions on pants, shorts and caps
  • The garment construction, available space and accessibility of the area may affect whether embroidery can be completed successfully.

Embroidery Artwork Requirements

For embroidery, please provide your logo or artwork in the highest-quality format available, preferably as a vector file, PDF or PSD. Your artwork will need to be converted into an embroidery-ready format through the digitisation process.

Designs containing very fine details, small text, photographs, drawings or complex artwork may require additional assessment to determine whether they can be reproduced effectively in embroidery. Where possible, please provide the original artwork rather than a screenshot or low-resolution image, as this allows us to achieve the best possible embroidery result.
